In nursing homes, the loss of dentures, hearing aids, eyeglasses, and other high-value items is unfortunately all too common. Beyond the high replacement costs, lost staff time, and damaged relationships, the loss of these items limits residents' ability to hear, see, and communicate. Denture loss is especially devastating, as it restricts residents' diets and comprises nutrition, which in turn can lead to weight loss and other serious health problems.

The Scandent solution

The Scandent system eliminates item loss in nursing homes. We embed small RFID tags into items such as dentures and glasses, install readers in areas through which lost items are likely to pass, and provide handheld readers for on-demand searching. When an item is detected, the system alerts staff through a customizable combination of emails, texts, and phone calls.
