Vladimir Djuric, Cofounder

Vlad is a cofounder of Scandent, and focuses on business development. Prior to starting Scandent, Vlad was an Associate and a Founding Member of OpenView Venture Partners, a $225 million venture capital fund that invests in software and technology companies. While there, Vlad worked with senior management across OpenView's portfolio to build best-in-class finance functions. Previously, as an Analyst, Vlad sourced and led 7 OpenView investments, and was responsible for deploying over $50 million into new investments. Prior to OpenView, Vlad was an Analyst at Insight Venture Partners. Vlad graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Economics, where he was the Business Manager of H Bomb Magazine and Advertising Manager of The Harvard Crimson.

Akshay Athalye, Cofounder

Akshay is a cofounder of Scandent, and focuses on hardware and system development. Akshay is also as a Research Scientist at the Research Foundation of Stony Brook University and his research interests are focused on hardware design, protocol development, and signal processing as related to RFID systems. Akshay's primary focus is on development of RFID based solutions to practical problems, and he has a patent and a pending patent in the area of RFID. Akshay has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University and has been involved in RFID research for the better part of the past decade. He has numerous publications about RFID in academic and industry journals.
